Eagles’ Carson Wentz gives update on rehab, raises $850,000 during charity softball game

PHILADELPHIA Friday night was certainly a productive one for Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz and an encouraging one for fans.

Wentz, along with his AO1 Foundation, held a charity softball game at Citizens Bank Park on Friday night, raising over $850,000 in the process.

Prior to the game, Wentz who is recovering from a torn ACL he suffered last December offered an update on how his rehab is going.

Manziel, a first-round selection of the Cleveland Browns in the 2014 draft infamously washed out of the NFL after a series of off-field incidents. The Browns waived Manziel in March of 2016.

Manziel, who played in a developmental league in April called the Spring League, last played in a pro game in a loss against the Kansas City Chiefs on Dec. 27, 2015.

Hamilton’s next preseason game is June 9 against the Montreal Alouettes. The Tiger-Cats open their regular season on June 16 against the Calgary Stampeders.

Still, Detroit will once again have to think long and hard about trading Fulmer, a 25-year-old who won’t be a free agent until 2023, because of the kind of return he could bring provided he turns things around.

After posting a 3.45 ERA in 51 starts over his first two big-league seasons, he’s just 2-4 with a 4.60 ERA in 11 starts in 2018.

Green, then also a starting pitcher, and Fulmer played together at Double-A in 2015 after a trade with the Mets that sent Yoenis Cespedes to Queen brought Fulmer to the Tigers.

Green and Fulmer were on the same team just a month but the pair formed a quick bond and are still good friends who text now and then and catch up whenever they play each other, Green said.
