Vontaze Burfict officially suspended four games for PEDs Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict is officially suspended for the first four games of the 2018 season.

The NFL announced today that Burfict is suspended for violating the league’s policy on performance-enhancing substances.

The suspension was reported last month, but at that point Burfict was still hoping he could win an appeal based on a claim that his failed test took place after he had already been ruled out for the season. But that appeal never stood a chance, and now the suspension is official.

Maybe I’m wrong. (It wouldn’t be this first time this week today.) Maybe Belichick is losing his cloak-and-dagger fastball. Regardless, when it comes to the Patriots’ plans for restocking the most important position in football via the draft — a matter of critical importance with the Brady Train pulling into the station — it’s hard to imagine Belichick allowing anyone to know what he truly thinks, and it’s easy to think that any reports or rumors as to what he thinks have made their way into the public eye for a reason.

The Cowboys selected Escobar in the second round in 2013, and he appeared in 62 games his first four seasons. Backing up Jason Witten, Escobar caught only 30 passes but scored eight touchdowns.

He failed to make the Chiefs’ roster last season and played only two games with the Ravens last season, spending less than a month in Baltimore.

The Browns also waived six players Thursday, moving on from linebacker Max Bullough, wide receiver Bug Howard., tight end Matt Lengel, wide receiver Larry Pinkard, defensive back C.J. Smith and running back Kelvin Taylor.

Weather also wiped out Toronto’s game at Cleveland on Sunday, one of six games around the majors to be postponed. It was the second straight weather-related postponement for the Indians and Blue Jays.
